[1] Graduated in February 1982 from the Department of Modern Chemistry of the University of Science and Technology of China, majoring in Chemical Physics

[2] Studied under Professor Zhu Pengnian at the State University of New York at Stony Brook

[3] Received a Ph.D. in Chemistry in September 1987

Work Experience:

[1] Postdoctoral Researcher from September 1987 to May 1989 after obtaining a Ph.D. in Chemistry

[2] Joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong in August 1992, serving as a British System Lecturer (1992-1996), Professor (1996-1999), Chair Professor of Chemistry (1999-2010), and Wei Lun Chair Professor of Chemistry (2010-present)

[3] Part-time appointment at the University of Science and Technology of China since 1995

(3) Nucleation processes of protein aggregation related to neurodegenerative diseases

(4) Design, synthesis, and self-assembly of functional macromolecules

(5) Dynamics and structure of macromolecular solutions and gel networks

(6) Molecular characteristics of complex and special macromolecules
